Unfinished Symphony...Sort Of

Ever wonder why I don't post more artwork? Why I'm too tired to have a coherant conversation before I turn in at 9:00PM? It's the UNFINISHED SYMPHONY of the needs of testing, retesting, tracking, corraling, herding, and sometimes even teaching 20 first graders who would rather be going to see some musical about cute high schoolers!

I Try the Stencil Thing (with mixed results)

Found this overall stencil at a craft store...and glory hallelujah! LOW ODOR paint!!! I'm back on with trying the stencils. (The smell of regular spray paint made me want to barf and shortened my graffeti artist career.) So I got a little excited and sprayed several pages which stuck together...they really do mean quick drying.... so I lost several journal pages to The Stencil Learning Curve for Slow Learners.
Found this one at a craft store and added it to a journal page. I'll like it even more when I can get it to not stick to the previous page. HELLO! Slow down impatient stenciller.

Tried a palm tree on journal page. Plan to recut on stencil stuff and try again. Found plastic and am trying to cut my own stencils. As with many things it's harder than it looks. Especially for The Impatient Stenciller. But great fun!

Me and My Shadows

It's hot and windy so taking a few shadow pictures seemed the right thing.
Besides, no one asked me to feel how sweaty they were. No one groaned and said, "It's too hot !" when I kindly suggested they take out their math books.

Just me and my shadows...

Super Saturday With Tea for Two

Who woulda' thought the shy, tall girl I met 23 years ago would turn into a beauty who would take me to tea on a super Saturday outing...and say wonderful things about how I helped raise her...and buy me 1ooo Artist Journal Pages???!!! Lucky me...
We tried on several hat/ boa combos to get the right look.

Table rose in apricot color...who could resist taking so many pictures their new camera flashed "Memory Full" in red? Not me...a "friend of mine".

All tables had different china, hats, boas, gloves, vintage photos... It should say "NO BOYS ALLOWED" on front door.

Fall themed decorations were everywhere. They change the theme each month...October is "Pumpkins".

Hat, gloves, boa...fashion forward as usual! Thank you ever so much KLB! You know how to pick 'em!

Economic Stimulation Package...Lady Lemonade Style

I am a Proud JUNKER who is doing her part...in her humble way...to stimulate the economy. I took my stash of $20 and spent it ALL in one weekend on the following...
Added ALABAMA to my Cheezy State Plate Collection...now at 22 states found.

Guest towels...heavily startched!

Embroidered towel.

Rusted vintage tin box. I tried my best to kick start the economy. I even found a few more goodies but they might end up as Christmas gifts...

Fake and Real

Fake palms inside the mall.
Real palms outside the mall. Humor me. I coulldn't resist the contrast of these two shots of fake and real palms. Plus I have to practice with my camera. Plus I'm free for the day...thank you Christopher Columbus...politically incorrect or not. By the way...did he bring palm trees to the New World?

Belated BD Lunch

Belated BD lunch with at a friend in a funky restaurant near downtown. Have my new camera and am practicing like crazy.
This is the view through an open window next to our table...it's mostly painted on the wall outside the window.

Is this the frog prince? Thank you Ms. D. for a great afternoon of food and talk and friendship. I am blessed by the love and support of WONDERFUL, REAL WOMEN who I adore!

Blessings ???

The Infant of Prague must have blessed Room 3 today. For a Monday, things went well. No one threw rocks or threatened mayhem on others. No talk that wasn't "school talk". No one wound up in the principal's office. Only 7 names on the board for the minor infractions of fooling around during reading and shouting out.

Clouds with the suggestion of RAIN! Be still my heart. Lady Lemonade never gets enuf of the wet stuff when she's at home in The Little Yellow House On the Hill.
STORM WATCH!!! That's what the news calls it when it rains in my part of the world. You know, that stuff that hasn't fallen out of the sky for 7 months. Remember how to turn on the wipers?

True Art From the Heart

I made this for you, teacher, he said as he carefully extracted this from a backpack. I love the tree I told him. But it's a mushroom! How could I have seen that beauty as a tree? Silly me. And my favorite sunflower right next to the mushroom. What a loving gift of true art from the heart. How many people are gifted with lovingly done artwork first thing in the morning?
