Regarding Photos in Last Post

This is a big PS for the photos below. Forgot to add any text and can't figure out how to do it after it's published. Anywhooooo...went to breakfast at a local cafe and took pictures of the mural blending Ventura County history with celebrity images.

Cautious Optimism

Found these old pictures on Flikr and felt much better about how my classroom looked on the first day of school! All 19 students eventually showed up (one came at 1:30PM!) and seem to be a much better group than last year's models. I am looking forward with cautious optimism...

Beginning #33

Starting my 33rd year of 20th of first grade. 180 school days to do my best with 6 year olds in reading, writing and math. But by the end of the first day...some will be pulling out ahead and some won't be sure exactly what to do..This is our schedule for the first day...VERY simple because it's a big change from Kinder...

Real Life

Worked for 5 hours. I think I'll buy a bunch of lottery tickets because I can't stop thinking that somebody wins.

Newest Project

Taking another online class and starting to work on my last project of the summer. Next week I head back to school to see what condition the classroom is in after summer school and heaven knows what else. Big sigh! But this week I will be working with paint and sewing machine and other gear as I stitch and stencil my way through my last big summer project...
